If I asked him I'm sure he would say no, but after watching the Oscars last night, that is the only conclusion I can come to.

During Melissa Etheridge's performance of the Oscar winning song "I Need To Wake Up", they were showing slides telling us how we can personally stop "Global Warming". There was a slide that appeared that said "Everyone can reduce their carbon emissions" then the slide changed, and these words were added "to zero".

Minnesota Legislature Causing Global Warming

By Elmer Beaureguard, February 14, 2007

The Minnesota Legislature may have to fine itself for causing Global Warming! No this is not an "Onion" story. When humans exhale they emit CO2, and CO2 emissions may soon be heavily regulated, according to proposed bills in the Minnesota Legislature.

The Bills State: "Allowance" means an authorization from a state regulatory agency to emit up to one ton of carbon dioxide equivalent during a specified year.

The House Energy and Commerce Committee Subcommittee on Energy and Air Quality has canceled its hearing set for today called, "Climate Change: Are Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Human Activities Contributing to a Warming of the Planet?" because of the freezing rain and snow in Washington D.C.. Also Al Gore had to cancel a showing of his movie on the campus of Maryville University in St Louis last night because of the winter storm.

Man-made orthodoxy is a dogma of coercion, bias, and junk science

Paul Joseph Watson, Prison Planet
Tuesday, February 13, 2007
The hoax of the doctrine of man-made global warming that is being foisted upon the world by decree, and the junk science that is manipulated to support it, represents a creeping fascism whose agenda to stifle open debate betrays the fact that climate change hysteria is a farce intended to crush freedoms and further centralize global power.

A Commentary By Ken Caldeira

Plant a tree, then do much, much more
Carbon dioxide is heating up the Earth. Ice caps are melting, ocean levels are rising, hurricanes are intensifying, tropical diseases are spreading and the threat of droughts, floods and famines looms large. Can planting a tree help stop all this from happening?

To some, it's a no-brainer: We add carbon dioxide to the atmosphere every time we use energy from coal, oil or gas; but each tree can remove more than a ton of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere over its lifetime. Based on this logic, it might seem a good idea to go out and plant a tree to slow global heating.

By Richard Gray, Science Correspondent, Sunday Telegraph

Man-made climate change may be happening at a far slower rate than has been claimed, according to controversial new research.

Scientists say that cosmic rays from outer space play a far greater role in changing the Earth's climate than global warming experts previously thought.

In a book, to be published this week, they claim that fluctuations in the number of cosmic rays hitting the atmosphere directly alter the amount of cloud covering the planet.

Nigel Calder, former editor of New Scientist, says the orthodoxy must be challenged
From The Sunday Times, February 11, 2007

When politicians and journalists declare that the science of global warming is settled, they show a regrettable ignorance about how science works. We were treated to another dose of it recently when the experts of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued the Summary for Policymakers that puts the political spin on an unfinished scientific dossier on climate change due for publication in a few months’ time. They declared that most of the rise in temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to man-made greenhouse gases.

Elmer's First Law of Global Warming

Elmer's First Law of Global Warming or "The Chicken Little Syndrome" is:

After an unusual warm spell, some people think that means the globe will burn up, so they run around screaming "The Globe Is Warming! The Globe Is Warming!"

Elmer's Second Law of Global Warming

Elmer's Second Law of Global Warming or "God Is In Control" is:

Whenever the mainstream media comes out and says that Global Warming is for real, we get hit with unusually cold weather.

For instance today's cover of the Startribune, which mentions on the same page an extended cold wave coming, and that the earth is burning up. Yesterday USA today had a photo of the globe in a frying pan with the heat on and it was 5º.

And lets not forget the now infamous January 1996 Newsweek Global Warming Cover Story that came out during the blizzard of the century. Newsweek later blamed the blizzard on Global Warming. This put a big dent in the Anti-Global Warming movement, and they were forced to start calling it "Climate Change".

Elmer's Third Law Of Global Warming Is:

Most Global Warming occurs during the summer.

After watching the presentation given to the Minnesota Senate by Global Warming 101, you'd think that CO2 or carbon dioxide is the worst thing on the planet and will eventually destroy us. In a proposed bill S.F. No 192 carbon dioxide is mentioned 39 times as the main greenhouse gas. It seems to define people as merely "Greenhouse gas emissions sources"

"Greenhouse gas emissions source" means any anthropogenic physical unit or process that releases greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

Global Warming: The Cold, Hard Facts? By Timothy Ball Monday, February 5, 2007

Global Warming, as we think we know it, doesn't exist. And I am not the only one trying to make people open up their eyes and see the truth. But few listen, despite the fact that I was one of the first Canadian Ph.D. in Climatology and I have an extensive background in climatology, especially the reconstruction of past climates and the impact of climate change on human history and the human condition. Few listen, even though I have a Ph.D, (Doctor of Science) from the University of London, England and was a climatology professor at the University of Winnipeg. For some reason (actually for many), the World is not listening. Here is why.

The timing seems weird because of the cold weather and all, but they're talking about a Global Warming Tax. France and 45 other ant-global warming countries want to create a world wide "Carbon Tax", although they didn't mention the U.S., it was clear we would be the main target of this tax. Al Gore thinks its a great idea.

China which produces on average more CO2 than the U.S., says they are too poor to do anything about it. The Chinese people just by breathing emit almost 1 billion tons of CO2 into the atmosphere annually. We at M4GW commend China and its great efforts in warming the globe.

Today on USA Today's website on their weather map, the weather was so cold they ran out of colors. As you can see in this image above, when I put the cursor over Minnesota it shows -10º in Minneapolis and -20º in Duluth, but the USA Today map only goes down to 0º. There should be at least 2 more color bands, a -10º color band and a -20 color band.

LONDON SUNDAY TELEGRAPH

Reported in the Washington Times

The oceans may be warming and air temperatures rising, but Iceland is bucking the global climate trend.

Thick pack ice, the like of which has not been seen for decades, is stretching into the western fjords as temperatures plummet and a bitter wind blows in from Greenland.

The ice has proved a headache for fishermen, who have been unable to go to sea, but it is what might arrive with the ice that has caused most concern: polar bears.

Well, it's Groundhog Day... again... and that must mean we're up here at Gobbler's Knob waiting for the forecast from the world's most-famous groundhog weatherman, Punxsutawney Phil, who's just about to tell us how much more winter we can expect.
A quote from my favorite movie "Groundhog Day"

Today Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow and predicts an ealy spring. Which seems counter intuitive because here in Minnesota it was sunny and -10º.
