I actually use both types of bulbs, mercury vapor for lighting and incandescent to warm the chicks, my pump house in winter and my boat epoxy in winter. What will we use when these type bulbs are gone?

Preach on Brother Ted. Nancy didn't understand what you were talking about because you actually made sense.

For heat? A big ol' kerosene heater. That uses gallons of kerosene. Better than extra electricity.

For disposal? I put the lightbulb in 2 plastic bags and mail it to my democratic senator.

PS. since the law, the price of these things(on sale) went up 25%-50%. Back to the incandescent while I can....they're going to get more expensive too....

Practical lighting design must take into account the gradual decrease in light levels from each lamp owing to lamp aging, lamp burnout, and dirt accumulation on fixture and lamp surfaces. Empirically-established depreciation factors are listed in lighting design handbooks.
