Ofcom finds The Great Global Warming Swindle breached broadcast rules

Ofcom says The Great Global Warming Swindle, broadcast last March, was in breach of a number of rules in the broadcasting code

These include criticising the government's former chief scientist, Sir David King, for comments he didn't make.

The Channel 4 documentary about global warming made "significant allegations" without offering an "appropriate and timely opportunity" to leading scientists to respond, the broadcasting regulator ruled.

But Ofcom found that despite concerns over the presentation and omission of various facts and views, the audience watching the Channel 4 programme was not "materially misled".

Here is the original documentary.

You need to read the complete ruling. The sir David King Guy was never mentioned by name, the comment about breeding pairs going to Antarctica was attributed to someone else. The IPCC was only given 4 days to respond to a media request so it was ruled that it was not enough time to respond. Carl Wunsch was not told what the movie was about in advance. Those are the specific rules that were violated. If they tried to institute those kinds of ridiculous rules on the American press, they'd get field dressed.

Also, I think they have a "fairness" type doctrine.

They're not saying that the documentary is lying, they're saying the other side isn't represented well enough. Even though this is the only anti-global warming documentary out there.
