My friend's son was in Europe for 2 weeks and he's in France right now. He said they got almost 6 inches of snow in Marseille yesterday! He sent these photos. So I guess it hasn't snowed there in like 20. Everything is shut down and kids are playing in the street. Their palm trees are covered in snow, yet we who are always covered in snow never get palm trees, the injustice!

A few years ago my wife and I stayed in Marseille for a couple of months and we really loved that city. The people were wonderful, the food was terrific of course, and there is so much to see because of Marseille's long history, which began with its founding by the Greeks. The last photo looks like it may have been taken down by Vieux Port, either at the end of La Canebiere or where Rue de la Republique meets Quai des Belges, which would be in front of the apartment we rented during our stay. Thanks very much for posting the pictures. It shows a different side of the sunny Marseille we enjoyed so much.
2009 will be the year when all the Global Warming experts, scientists, politicians and ALGORE will be sued into a finacial coma. The fraud, thefth by deception and psyhcological harm they've done to especially the worlds children will not go unpunished!

Ya'll... "Global Warming" is an old term from the 80s. Anyone with a clue knows that gases like CO2 and CH3 just bounce back heat energy. As far as how that affects the climate becomes damn near impossible to predict. It just means there's more energy in the atmosphere; the heat can melt ice, which evaporates and adds water to the atmosphere, which makes for more snow, rain. It also shifts things around - cold and hot areas of the planet don't stay where they used to, and this is like stacking the deck with wild cards.
In other words, a better term based on what has been figured out since the 1980s would be "Crazy Climate". Also, it's already here, but all the pollution - smog, jet exhaust - bounces a lot of the sunlight back out to space; so even if you start walking everywhere, we're still in deep dookie. That's why I only drive dirty diesels - to save the planet.
As if ya'll are smarter than even a single scientist. My ass. Go take a cold shower and stop admiring your 'genius', smug ninnies.

If CO2 and CH3 just bounce back heat energy (and if you are half as smart as you are trying to be), then please explain to me why Venus has average temperatures of +400F

I'll bet the C02 content in Venus' atmosphere is somewhat greater than our 0.038%! Show me a greenhouse with one pane intact out of 2500 and I'll show you some frozen tomatoes.

The REAL reason that Al Gore tried this scam on us is that he is FIRM believer in the cult of Gaia. 'Too many' people on her, (the planet is a living entity named Gaia), makes her angry and Gore is the one to decide how much is too many. Because he failed to steal the 2000 election and enact his fruity ideas directly, he did the next best thing and make CO2 a boogy man in order to REDUCE WORLD POPULATION by preventing the 3rd world from developing by restricting its use of energy. Even Claude Allegre, one of the very FIRST scientists to suggest the possibility of human CO2 affecting the climate - has abandoned the idea altogether.
The flaw in Gore's 'thinking' is that the RICHEST countries are those who have lowest peopulation growth and the cleanest environments - precisously the same ones who use the most energy!

Venus has some 21,000 times as much CO2 as the Earth. Just as importantly, it also lacks our vast amounts of moderating water vapor, as well as receiving nearly double the amount of solar insolation, and a surface that may be heated by large amounts of magma.
A much more apt comparison on planetary atmospheres would be icy Mars which has merely 9 times as much CO2 as the Earth, despite its lower temperature.
Unbelievable isn't it? that so many fools will believe anything they're told even if their eyes can't see it.
Gore-bal warming is a hoax,period. And fools like John McCain and Newt Gingrich are in bed with Gore on this non-sense.
Its time to completely clean house in Washington DC starting in 2010.

Global Warming is a bunch of BS, it's more like climate change. Or possibly we are entering the next ice age. There may be snow in that photo, but I doubt the temps are hardly cold enough to harm that old Washingtonia palm. Sometimes looks are decieving. We grow lots of palms here and I can show you pics. of them buried in snow.
