Type in Copenhagen Failure into Google News Search and you get 8,896 results. It seems like everything went against Copenhagen in the last couple of weeks.

God showed up big time and answered our prayers for a white Copenhagen. It's hard to talk about ending Global Warming when your freezing to death. Obama had to leave the conference early because of the blizzard hitting Washington D.C.

Then there was Climategate even though the media won't mention it and reporters weren't allowed to ask about it. Obama failed to acknowledge Climategate in his speech by saying, "it is science not fiction". Even still Climategate seems to be having an effect.

I still have some questions about the final accord however.

Question #1
Is the accord really dead or like in the Wizard of Oz do we still have to deal with the dead witch's sister?
I keep reading stuff like this:

The Copenhagen accord set a target of limiting global warming to a maximum 2 degrees Celsius over pre-industrial times as a requirement to stave off the worst effects of climate change. It also reiterated a goal of rich nations to jointly mobilize $100 billion a year by 2020 to address the needs of developing countries.

Question #2
How can Government officials argue about setting global temperature goals?

Even though they think they are gods they aren't, turns out you have to control the sun to control temperature. Maybe they are using some kind of formula such as:

Every trillion dollars given to Al Gore and his cronies equals minus 1 degree celcius. When Al gets two trillion he gives some to Michael Mann to fix his chart to now "show a decline" in temperature and "DONE!". Al Gore Saves The World and is a Trillionaire.

Question #3
What chart are they using to determine if we've achieved the perfect global temperature?

If they are using the now debunked Hockey Stick chart we'll all have to go back to the Stone Age, but if they are using the Pre-Hockey-Stick chart (which includes the Medieval Warming Period) we have already achieved success.

I'm a tree hugger from way back. I resent the hijacking of the environmental movement by greedy, money hungry, power seeking fakers. It was originally about stopping real pollution, not throwing you trash around and saving some green space here and there.

These idiots are not environmentalists. I rejoice in their failure.

Me too I, I like to use the term "Conservationist" though, the term Environmentalist has been sullied.

I often go to the Boundary Waters in Minnesota and I think the "Environmentalist" have ruined it. In 1999 we had a huge windstorm and millions of trees blew down, including giant old growth white pines.

The lumber companies offered to go and clear up the dead trees even by helicopter with as minimal damage to the area as possible.

The Greeny Weenies wouldn't let them because it is their holy sanctuary. A few years ago all those piles of dead trees burned. And what used to be a largely conifer forest is returning now as a mostly deciduous forest.

In this case man's inaction caused a lasting change to the environment.

I live in Australia & Envirn-Mental-ists have done immense damage to the Environment, life & Property.

Ever wondered why Australia's Bush Fire Season can be so extreme?

The Environmental movement have campaigned aggressively to have "Back Burning" halted, Back Burning was handed down from the original inhabitants of this country, Back Burning was conducted in early spring each year, it removed dead growth, underbrush & removed the fuel fires would use & promoted new growth.

for 5 weeks earlier this year Victorians battled over 400 fires with a total loss of life of 173 & 414 injured, 2,029 houses & thousands more damaged, tens of thousands of deaths of livestock & native Fauna.
thanks a bunch.

Of course I'm sure they blamed these fires on Global Warming. They did in Minnesota.

Of course,

Sadly, you are mistaken. The battle may have been won, but the war is being lost. Worse, I am not sure how it can be won. The main problem is a large segment of the population, and a large segment of those attracted to politics, have a faulty program, a brain virus if you will. And it is difficult to impossible to reprogram them with something more ethical/reasonable/productive and honest.

They will not give up.

The forests here in California are burning away also. The Sierra Club will not allow any logging or thinning of the forest so conciquently the forest becomes very dense with many small trees which create "ladder" fuel to ignite the tall trees. Now when we have fires, instead of burning the low growth and sparing the tall trees, the whole forest becomes a raging enferno, killing all the animals and making it so nothing will grow for 100 years. They also will not allow (the Sierra Club with help from idiot judges) any of the burned trees to be salvaged. The bark beetles move in and reproduce infecting adjacent forests. Thank you Sierra Club.

Brian

Funny, we have the same problem here in the boundary waters and we are waiting for the big one we haven't had in many years. No one is allowed to log that area with ANYTHING other then hand saws, ohh and no motorized vehicles to haul the wood out either... more enviro'mental-ists at work. There is over 50 years worth of PRIME lumber up there in PRISTINE forest.
