The leaked e-mails at the center of the "climategate" scandal should be the focus of a criminal probe, according to Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-CA.

The e-mails, allegedly obtained by a hacker who broke into the server used by the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit, reveal that CRU scientists manipulated data in order to show a dramatic rise in temperatures and attempted to suppress evidence that contradicted their results.

Sen. Boxer, Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, says that the recently released e-mails should be treated as a crime.

"You call it 'Climategate'; I call it 'E-mail-theft-gate,'" she said during a committee meeting.

Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., has asked for a Senate investigation into the "climategate" scandal. Boxer said her committee may hold hearings into the matter, but that a criminal probe would be part of any such hearings.

"We may well have a hearing on this, we may not. We may have a briefing for senators, we may not," Boxer said. "Part of our looking at this will be looking at a criminal activity which could have well been coordinated. This is a crime."

Bwahahaha. Talk about having your head in the sand. Is that collar to reduce chafing?

Calling "Climategate" "E-mail-theft-gate"

Is like calling "Watergate" "Woodward-and-Bernstein-gate"

I say let her lead the charge in this. Maybe the collective attention of her, Pelosi, and Reid can be diverted from making our nation's health care system as efficient as the USPS, Amtrak, Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare.
BTW, what are the odds that, if the shoe were on the other foot, Boxer and others would be heralding the claim of "freedom of speech"?
Good work, Elmer. As the first traces of snow fell here in Southwestern Michigan this morning, I couldn't wait to come home and replay your video, "If We had Some Global Warming."

So which is the worst crime? Someone taxing (robbing) the American people thousands of dollars a year, curtailing their freedom of choice and giving away part of their independence to a third party (the UN), or, the whistle-blower making available fraudulent scientific practices to promote this scam.
It's like saying, that an employee is more guilty because he exposes a chemical company for purposely releasing waste toxins which kill a million people.
If it's in the public interest, there's no crime!

What a joke! Now the hackers are the criminals? They should be rewarded! They saved us from the biggest scam in human history.

Everyone knows that emails are NOT a very secure means of communication, that goes without saying. If you don't have decent security on your computers, don't complain when your emails get hacked.

How stupid are these guys?
