All I hear these days is how we are headed for the fiscal cliff and how every American owes $51,000 of National Debt. Well let me be the first to say that this is not my debt.
Don't get me wrong I pay my taxes every year like a good citizen. I pay my State Income taxes my Federal Income taxes and my Property Taxes. Every year the Government tells me what to pay and I pay it, end of story. The problem is the Government is spending way more than they are taking in and has been doing so for a long time. But that is not my fault, it's the people in charge who are spending all the money's fault, they are responsible for our National Debt not me.
The other thing that is confusing about all this debt is, who do we actually owe the money too? I know we legitimately owe China a couple of trillion but the rest we owe to the Federal Reserve. So we owe Trillions of dollars to ourselves. Why don't we just forgive ourselves all that debt? Who gets hurt? NOBODY!!
